It all starts right here!.... I'm located on the corner of Skylake Country Store. (Map below.) Skylake has Wells-Fargo on the gate to protect privacy of owners...so you need me! Note that we are 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta Airport and 1 1/2 hours from the Blue Ridge Parkway at Balsam Gap. Take your pick! But, it's just as nice to stay here.
TRAY MOUNTAIN (4430 ft) FROM SKYLAKE.
Appalachian Trail runs the ridge. We have 1300 acres with 300 in greenbelt. Most lots are one acre at elevations from 1450 to 1850 ft. All are in the forest heavily protected by covenants (see Skylake website). Amenity fee for homes is $1474. It includes water, road maintenance, tennis, pool, dumpsters, security, clubhouse/gym and reserve fund. It has been well-managed for 35 years!
ROAD LESS TRAVELED....Twelve miles of trails is our greatest charm. They follow streams and catwalk estuaries. They open views to layered mountains then cover you under canopies of laurel. One bridges you over the wide waters of Sky Lake then carries you two Level miles to York Falls....Nature's bounty is who we are. Our trails showcase this "spirit", which transcends everything here.
CANOE MOORINGS UNDER SKYLAKE CLUBHOUSE....serve as reminder that this was a Summer Camp. Still is, but year round now for us
older folks! ...You may choose to join activities or "hideout" (over half the owners are second homes). Half the full-timers are on travels, so
it's truly peaceful. Fishing is great here. Golfers have several courses closeby. "Big Water" boating is 12 miles away on Lake Burton. Moor
it up there or keep it at our back gate area, where all RV's, trailers and boats are required to park.

LOTS TO DO.... Get paddles and vests from guard gate. (Bring your own fishin' pole)... Sun and swim or sit in cabana shade at pool. Hungry?
Go up the hill to the Country Store. (Great for soup and sandwich!) Tennis anyone? Courts are nearly always available. (Most owners aren't even here!)...Don't
feel like the hike? Go park at York Falls just to enjoy the peaceful setting...Go "shoot some hoop" at the gym...Lots to do at Skylake... Join us! |
